Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) UAE Committee are pleased to invite you to attend a roundtable discussion on Enabling Better Infrastructure - International Best Practice in Infrastructure Prioritisation and Strategic Planning.
The event will be held in Dubai on Thursday, 10th October 2019 from 8:00 am to 10:00 am at our New ICE ME Office on Level 2, Dubai Association Centre, The Offices 2 One Central Building, DWTC Complex, Dubai.
ICE’s incoming President Paul Sheffield and ICE Director of Membership Sean Harris will be at the event.

The objective of the roundtable discussion is to highlight details that societies get the infrastructure they need and can trust it will be delivered, using the knowledge and collective action of our global chartered membership. The world is changing, rapid urbanisation, demographic shifts, and climate change are all converging and will impact society. This will lead to increasing requirements for new and repurposed infrastructure around the world.
Getting this right is the responsibility of national governments. A growing number of direct requests to the ICE from international governments and officials has shown that many economies are facing the same challenges across the infrastructure lifecycle: the need to unlock better procurement processes, value, social and economic outcomes and to address shared global challenges in a sustainable way. A great deal of the work is being done in isolation. ICE has identified that there is a need for a coordinated international approach to gathering and disseminating good practice examples and case studies of infrastructure planning and delivery.
